About Richard Schulman

Richard Schulman has been making photographs of unique architecture, design, and cultural personalities for many years. In the field of architecture, he has focused on the portraits of architects as well as their buildings and designs. His work has been published in national as well as international publications such as: Domus, Abitare, Smithsonian, New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Vogue, London Times, El Pais, Metropolis, Paris Match and Stern. His books include: Portraits of the New Architecture, 50 Portraits of Architects and Their Works, Conversations with Clients and Architects, and Conversations on Critical and Projective Theory of Architecture.
For the past ten years Schulman has been lecturing and teaching. He has lectured at the
National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., the Los Angeles County Museum, and The Netherlands Architecture Institute. Additionally, Schulman has taught at Parsons: The New School for Design.
